Business Development Manager

A National Energy Supplier is looking for exceptional sales talent to join as Business Development Managers. These are extremely desirable field sales opportunities with a world-class employer. The individual in this position is responsible for selling electricity and natural gas services to commercial and industrial (“C&I”) prospects. A phenomenal value proposition it is a relatively simple sales process. The real skill comes in the ability to consistently develop new opportunities, develop a solid penetration plan for your territory, and keep your sales pipeline full.

What are we looking for?

  • Develop and close new business opportunities in the region
  • Develop and implement an overall plan to grow customer base through the development of business relationships with direct C&I prospects and targeted alliance relationships
  • Utilize his/her existing network and relationships, and build new relationships to secure contracts with facility owners/operators and marketing partners

Requirements:

  • The successful candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of solid sales performance with a large focus on new business development (hunting)
  • Experience selling B2B (ideally transactional services like - but not limited to telecom, credit card processing, advertising, document management, office equipment, software solutions, etc.)
  • Established network of business-related contacts
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership skills and experience
  • A true love for sales and a professional mind-set related to new business development

For this position, we are seeking aggressive, self-confident, self-motivated individuals with a strong customer focus and the ability to relate well to people at all organizational levels internally and externally. The successful candidate must demonstrate flexibility, good listening skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple priorities. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills are required along with the ability to effectively position our products and value propositions within the context of the customer’s business. Computer (Microsoft Office and CRM) proficiency is a must.

Base salary is budgeted at $40k -$50k depending on experience, with a total first year on-target income of $90-110k! Commissions are uncapped, so there is a lot of opportunity to exceed this range with strong performance. The company also has a very strong benefit program designed specifically for sales professionals.
